Another Affiliates4u beta release reviewed

Much like Microsoft affiliates4u have thrown together a new release of the a4u site and are now letting users help them test it whilst it is live. ;) Unlike Microsoft this is actually the best way to go for a4u, as the idea is to improve the user experience, so direct testing will produce the best results. Plus we won’t have to keep downloading security updates from a4u!

The new look site went live today Wed July 9th, the last major change of the site was in May 2007 (was it really that long ago!) In fact that was beta v1 I think and now we are on v3, I’ve forgotten v2 somewhere in between.

What is new, what is good about the new a4u forum release?

  1. You can customise the front page of the site so things are laid out how you like them, you can drag & drop content units around the page as you see fit. You can also increase or decrease the number of blogs, posts or comments shown within each of those content units. You can even hide units you don’t want to see:

  2. Improved blog feeds. Tired of reading someones blog (not mine hopefully!) you can now hide all posts by a blogger. Great for avoiding merchants, networks, agencies or spammers you aren’t interested in. You can also just hide an individual post from the blog aggregator, not sure what the point of that is, just yet.

  3. Enhanced blog pages with new design, more tagging, ajax powered comments, improved backing & slapping and the ability to others comments on a blog.

  4. Ajax member thoughts, just click on your thoughts to update them

There is lots more to come this is just born of the basis of idea that affiliates4u have taken from users, we await the rest soon. Once you’ve had a play around let me know what you think.
