Preview of Affiliates4u beta
I have had the chance today to login and have a play around with the new affiliates4u, which is now set to launch on Monday (14th May). I first saw the site at the buy.at speakeasy where Matt showed me around.
Today I got to login in myself and I have already set up much of my profile, which holds a lot more information that on the a4u forum, you can talk about your business and your education and lots more.
Affiliates4u Screenshot of the main page:

Above you can see the main page you get when you log on, on the right you have a twitter like update on what people are doing and in the main section, activity by those on your contact list, updates to the communitys you are registered to and latest forum posts.
I had a play in the community section where it was quick and easy to put together a Football community and add discussion post to that about tonight’s Spurs v Blackburn game. Communitys can be invite only or open to everyone to join and you can also limit access to members, registered site users or anyone. It will be interesting to see what types of community get popular.
There is a news and articles section of the site, but you need to be signed up specially to post in there I think, as a blog author. You can back peoples articles and comment on them too, whilst press releases can also be submitted and are shown on that page.
The blogs page pulls the latest posts from user blogs registered on affilates4u, aggregating postings. You can search by tags and also subscribe to tags so you get alerted when somebody posts something that has a tag you are interested in.

The members page lets you see the avatars for recently active users and to also search for users. If you hover your mouse over a users avatar you get their name and their latest twitter like activity in a fun speech bubble.
The events page lets you see what is scheduled in the coming months in a easy to see monthly format, users can add their own events and announce them to the community.

On the providers page there are listings of companies providing relevant service in the affiliate marketing industry and you can drill down into specific categories. Standard listings are free but a fancy looking listing at the top of the page is paid for.
How are the rest of you that have had a look finding it?

Good to see you at the buy.at speakeasy, thanks for the review
It’s our last day of debugging and testing, if anyone would like to have a preview and join up before official launch on Monday then feel free to PM me on the a4uforum, and i’ll shoot across the login details.
All the best,
Matthew.

Fabulous review Ian and it was super to catch up with you at the buy.at event.
Just logged in to the new a4u and it certainly is different. Will take a while to get used to. But I say ‘Vive la revolution’ because the old forums were getting a bit staid - as I said to Matt himself.
A massive amount of work has obviously gone into the revamped site and I am looking forward to Monday

Looks really good. If it’s taking on a facebook slant then I think being able to set up sub communities to talk about different sectors and marketing methods will be very useful.
Looks like a great piece of work.

The biggest change A4U has seen for a while!
It really is quite impressive but will take a good while to work out all of its features!
Nice write up.
