Affiliate Marketing Blog from Kandevil

Hello again, so we should have the domain registered and set up now on some hosting with wordpress installed, I should say now that if you are feeling overwhelmed with the techy stuff, bare with me, as I’ll soon be through the sticky setup stuff and on to your content and promoting your site. Plus I hope to have a bit of a bonus freebie available later this week, which you will love if you aren’t techy at all and still want to get involved in affiliate marketing, you should even be able to get involved and catch up with the Sunshine Missions. That will depend on demand, so post a comment below if you are interested.

So if you have been keeping up you should have a wordpress site setup, we now need the theme and some plugins in place. Found one you like the look of and download your theme from one of these locations:

• http://themes.wordpress.net
• http://www.wpthemesfree.com

Copy the theme to your /wp-content/themes directory in your hosting, then activate it by clicking “design” from the Wordpress dashboard and the theme itself. I won’t go in to details as Wordpress covers it pretty well - Wordpress Themes.

Wordpress Plugins

There are a lot of plugins that you can use for Wordpress, but to get yourself started I think you only need to worry about the following, I won’t go into details of how to install these either, Wordpress cover that and they also have their own sites/pages:

• Optimal Title - sorts out the titles of your posts to be super relevant, this is a bit of SEO I suppose.
• Add Meta Tags - sorts out the descriptions of your posts that appear in Google/SERPS
• Easy Tube - makes it super easy to add youtube, we’ll use this later
• Spam Karma 2 - stops the deluge of spam you will get (I prefer this to Akismet but use whichever)

That is a pretty brief look at themes and plugins, but we don’t need to get too complicated, there are also some good posts on Wordpress themes on affiliates4u:
